Or can be…

I got out for a hit with my brother the other day, and he was wondering why he felt more comfortable playing in a 4.0 mixed match than he did in 3.5. This is a pretty common thing I hear on the court, and a lot of it comes down to the fact that at the higher levels, players hit with a bit more pace and control, giving you something to work with and allowing you to get into a rhythm.

If you find yourself getting frustrated by a lack of pace, don’t try to crush winners. Instead, be patient and concentrate on being more consistent. A lot of times these players rely on their consistency and your impatience. They can hit 10 dinky shots in a row, and they are expecting you to get frustrated, go for a winner, and miss more of them than you make.

Patience is a virtue, after all…

Thanks, friends. Enjoy your day!
